As it was announced before, in June it was started a PHP classes programming contest organized by the PHP-Editors.com site. The contestants were those participating authors that had their classes rated by the site users.

The winners were already contacted by the PHP-Editors.com site owner to distribute the prizes:

Tommaso DArgenio

http://www.phpclasses.org/browse/package/943.html
Wins - Macromedia Dreamweaver MX

2nd Place:
Paul Aitken

http://www.phpclasses.org/browse/package/1172.html

3rd Place:

http://www.phpclasses.org/browse/package/176.html

A new contest is started every month. The PHP-Editors.com site will provide more prizes. Any author may participate in the contest by checking the respective option in the user options page of the PHP Classes site. You may follow the current month contest ranking in the its page in the PHP-Editors.com site:

http://www.php-editors.com/class_contest.php

Any classes may be awarded in this contest, either new or old. They just have to be good enough according to the user ratings on utility, consistency, documentation, examples and test scripts.

Even if you are not an author, you can help in this contest by rating any classes you have downloaded before. Please rate as much classes as you can, whether you liked them or not, by going to this page. Doing so, you will be helping other authors to figure which classes are worthy and encouraging the authors to continue to improve and contribute with more and better classes.

Finally I would like to remind you that once again the PHP International conference will be held in Frankfurt, Germany in November. This is a very prestigious conference where the many of the best PHP developers will be presenting sessions of great interest to the PHP community.

If you would like to propose to present a session at this PHP event, you still have time as the call for papers deadline was extended until the end of the end of this week. You may find more details here:

1. Finally updated my Server Status class (2007-05-02 10:37)
I happened to take a look at my site’s stats and realized, “gee, quite a few people from phpclasses.org visit my blog.”...
