Hello,

Recently I have realized that the authors of the packages uploaded to the PHP Classes site have been spammed by entities unrelated to the site.

The site was not hacked nor any private information was disclosed. It seems that somebody has crawled over the site pages and grabbed the authors e-mail addresses.

Since I should have figured that someday that could happen, I would like to apologise to you if you have been exposed to the spam.

To prevent this happens again I have taken some anti-crawler measures making it hard for most robots to discover all the site pages and shrouding all e-mail addresses that appear in the pages.

These measure do not completely prevent site crawlers because I still would like the real users to be able to reach you about your classes without having to be subscribed to the site.

Still, now it is much more difficult for robots to collect your addresses as you may realized by browsing over the site pages.

I hope in the future I will be able to have more time to completely prevent that smarter crawlers figure how to grab your addresses, but for now I think you are much better protected.

Meanwhile, I know that some of you have been used e-mail alias to track the origin of the messages that are sent to you by anybody that found your contact address from the site. In that case you may want to update your subscription address with new alias, so you can now detect futher attempts of spammers if they realize how to grab addresses from the site from now on.

Sorry for the inconvinience, Manuel Lemos
