I have seen the entire PHP Classes website, and found out that "An Open Source Approvals Management Engine" in PHP is conspicious by it's absence. Am I searching the wrong terms, and such a thing already exists? Kindly guide me. In case it's missing, then what is the alternative in FOSS PHP?

I have been meaning to mess around with document structured noSQL and a package approval system would work for the core concept.

A complete system would consist of member management, multiple administration, document uploading, document editing, etc... What I have in mind is just the approval system. So if anyone else is interested in working up a complete package, don't let my efforts here stop you.

I couldn't find one on here either. I would call it an open source repository, the approval bit would just be an administrative function.

I kind of doubt phpClasses would release their code and allow competitors into the same market with little to no effort. It also is a niche market, so there would be a lot of work to put together a package that would only benefit a very small core of users. You may be able to find something out there for free, however I suspect it would be work for hire.

Yes, the PHP Classes site code is not Open Source and it is probably way more complex than Manish needs.

Maybe a simpler content moderation package would do to get him started.

It is probably not very hard to develop one that would would with generic content, not just Open Source projects.

I would look into WordPress plugins if content moderation fits the bill.

The only Approvals Management Engine I could find is an Oracle App. I don't think one is available in Open Source and would probably be much to complex to be dealt with here.

That probably would be the easiest way to go. I don't use WordPress, so I am not familiar with all the plugins available, however they probably have all the components needed to fill the request.

Here is a basic approval system where folders act as containers for files and these containers can be assigned an approval status.
