You can use this package to send messages to many recipients with a single script.

It performs some caching optimizations in case the message bodies are the same for all users.

Even for personalized newsletters it can send messages to many users as fast as possible.

There is an article here about how to use this class for mass mailing in PHP using smart optimizations.
