We are expanding our technical team, offering remote or hybrid working roles (office space in Bristol/London 1-2 days per week) to curious developers who share our vision and culture. What experience, requirements and skills you must have - We are looking for a mid/senior engineer with 3+ years of experience with Laravel (please do not apply if you do not have Laravel experience). - The role is remote or hybrid at your preference (1-2 days a week in Bristol/London for Hybrid), but you must operate in a Europe, Africa, or East Coat USA timezone. - You must be comfortable writing tests, as all functionality requires an integration test at a minimum. - You must be comfortable - and ideal, enjoy - integrating with APIs. - You must have fluent spoken and written English. What your role entails - We are looking for someone with a strong aptitude for APIs, performance, and development speed. - Our API is used by clients making billions of requests per year, where latency, response times, and data quality are critical. - We integrate with many external data sources to ensure we have the best data for our carbon calculations. - You can expect to interact with exciting clients and suppliers looking to integrate with Thrust Carbon. - You will be expected to write high-quality and comprehensively tested code with multiple releases per week. - You will not be expected to manage anyone, to begin with, but we are growing fast, so leadership opportunities will come up. What additional skills are appreciated - Above all, you must have a proven passion for all things sustainability and be excited by our mission to make travel effortlessly green. - Strong knowledge of Git, Postgresql (or other relational databases), React, and AWS. - Experience with client-facing calls and managing requirements. - Experience writing and editing technical documentation and an eye for spotting where we can improve our documentation.
