I don't know if you are aware but when I went to download
"MySQL DB Class and Data Manipulation Class" as a ZIP i was taking through to a blank page with a download link and this took me to a download some spamfilter.exe that my AV picked up as an instant threat. IT also put a harmful EXE into my temp internet folder. Thank god for AV on access protection.

There seems to be a misunderstanding. The does not accept Zip uploads. All Zip files are created by the site itself from the files of the package listed in its page. As you may verify, there are no .exe files in that package page. This site does not accept binary files except for images and Flash files.

So, I suggest that you verify your computer as there is no way the .ZIP files served by the site can cause that problem.
