please what exactly is the variable $marubox meant to serve as? for example what value does it represent?

This variable represents the mail box of received mail.. for e.g Inbox by default..

Also I keep getting this error *Error: connecting to server* what could likely be the problem? could it be the mail box

may be.. but check your IMAP PHP extension is set up correctly by doing phpinfo() and you are providing correct credentials for your mail box..

Also it is mandatory that your mail box is POP enabled.. :)

the IMAP PHP is working perfectly but my mail box isn't POP. what can i remove from the codes to just make it IMAP

Can I strictly use an IMAP server for the codes?
