I have meet them regularly in practice. Perhaps you are making your conclusions from an overly English-centric frame of reference?
It is however your you are maintaining the class, so you must do as you feel is right.
Thanks for taking the time to finding the idna_convert class. But per the code I posted in the opening post then I already have a similar working solution implemented.
