I'm an avid PHP Classes browser and I have to admit, it's a great service.

However, there's a few set-backs:

1) The theme absolutely blows, you should really try to spice it up. I mean, there's a fine-line between "bad" and "simplistic", you guys are on the margin of Bad. Mainly because the layout is so GENERIC - it's not at all appeasing to look at.

2) Whilst browsing my loading times fluctuate from long to very-long occasionally. I'm not on a slow connection, T1 to be exact, and the pages take SECONDS (3-10) to load. That's not cool. Upgrade something, somewhere, PLEASE.

3) Redirect pages take forever.. can you shorten them to a more realistic time? Maybe 1-2 seconds, not the current 30min (ok, ok 5 or 10 seconds is it?)

Sorry if my critiques got on your bad side, I apologize.

Thank you for your feedback.

The site design is something that some people would like to change. Changing to an arbitrary new design may mean to some people will like it and others will dislike it.

To minimize the problem, it is planned to make available a tool that will let anybody propose a new design. Then the users will vote for the best design. The winning design will be used from then on. The winner will earn a money prize as a sort of payment for his contribution.

As for the site load, most of it is caused by advertising. Unfortunately the site cannot live without the advertising revenue. Fortunately there is an alternative for those that would like that the advertising not slow down the site pages load nor distracts the users. If you get a premium subscription, one of the benefits is to access the site without advertising.

Premium subscriptions cost a small fee which is enough to offset from the loss of advertising revenue. And you still can benefit from other exclusive services. If you are interested in these services, you may want to take a look at the premium services page also mentioned in the article:

I agree that the redirect delay is too big. The problem is that Google suggested that pages should not redirect users to other pages too fast as that characterizes cloaking and that is a banned practice.

I don't know what is redirecting the users too fast. I thought 5 seconds was not too fast. I wonder much can I reduce it. If anybody has more information on this, it will be appreciated if you could share it.

Other than that, rest assured that your criticism is appreciated. It just shows that you care to improve this site. Feel free to submit more criticism or improvement suggestions if you would like that.

Thanks for your reply.

The theme idea sounds great, I hope it works :)

I would define "too fast" as 500ms (0.5s). However, do whatever it takes to stay unbanned ;-)

Happy trails! :-)
