This is a nice idea to buff up the site and more importantly, to challenge people. Good effort
However...what if I don't have or want a twitter, Facebook and google + account. I mean, change the missions so a person in the above situatipn can actually progress please...

Linking your account to Facebook, Twitter and Google+ is all to benefit your work exposure, as explained in the respective mission briefings.
But if for some reason you do not want the site to post in your timeline, you can just disable the respective options in your social networks options page. That is explained in the mission briefing too.

Apologies, I think you missed the point of my post. I am referring to the fact that there are many people who do not use Facebook, Twitter or Google+.
I understand exposure but, that detracts from the point of someone who has chosen not to access these services at all. For this group of people (myself included) this gamification stops instantly.
Is there an alternative?

I understand you do not want to participate in social networks.
In that case it does not make sense to force you to create social network accounts just for the sake of pretending you completed a mission.
You would not use the social networks for spreading about your work in the site, so it would be useless to create an account and not using it.
Therefore I am evaluating giving an option to somehow not have to link to social networks.
I am just wondering if your problem is just with Facebook or social networks in general.
Anyway, the Link account to Google is not exactly for the same purpose as Facebook and Twitter linking. It is more to make Google recognize your ownership of your packages.
When that mission is completed, Google may show your picture in search results, thus increasing your chance to get more people from search engines to know your packages.
You do not need a Google+ account for that. A regular Google account will do. So I am not planning in making that mission optional. It would probably introduce an unfair advantage to those that complete that mission over those that would not do it.

Hi Manuel, thanks for replying back on the topic. You are correct with the assumption that I have a problem with social networks in general and I didn't mean to come off as a troll. I am more wanting to become a master for the challenge. For most of the work I do, I don't really need exposure so try to stay off the radar.
Off topic, I do however have a pet project I would use for posting here though.
With regards to your proposal of taking away the need for twitter and Facebook, that sounds fair and some. Thank you kindly for the consideration.

Hi,
I share the same opinion as Simon Ball. I don't have anymore Facebook account and I don't want one anymore for the future. Nevertheless I have a Twitter account which I already linked to my PHP Classes account and have a Google and LinkedIn accounts too, so I'm not against social network at all, I'm just choosing which one I want to use/participate.
So, it would be very grateful of you to allow people like us to continue the adventure by letting us pass the mission even if we don't have a Facebook account. I understand that it put an exception on your system and I also understand that every mission can't be skipped. Maybe some mission could/should be optional, so user won't have the top classement, but could still progress.
That's all IMHO ;)
Best regards

Don't worry, it did not sound you came as troll.
I appreciate that you bothered to provide that feedback. Other people may just drop off and not bother to tell why. Then I would not be able to figure what needs to be done to keep you engaged on these levels and missions.
I just need to figure a clean way to implement optional missions in the current work flow, but I expect to have it done in a few days. I will post back when it is ready.

Right, I think I can make some missions like these optional, so it would up to you to complete or skip them.

OK, I finally added support to make Facebook and Twitter optional. Please try it now and let me know if you have difficulties.
