I barely have time to write new code for clients, let alone rewrite all my old code. I do shopping carts and admin panels, so everything I do needs database queries. They better not do anything that starts throwing notifications. I assume that would only happen if the server's php version were changed, so if well enough is left alone it would be fine. I'll write whatever they want when I install a new version. Most of my clients are on shared hosting, so they don't have much say in what version the server has installed.
