Yes, Firefox is very mature in terms of stable and wide range of plugin base.
Google is trying to outrun with Chrome by releasing 10 versions in about 3 years.!

Yes, Firefox seems sluggish and slower compared to Chrome but as a developer it's my first choice while developing.
in the end one has to verify in all of them. :)
